About the event

The lineup will feature cream puffs, breads and baguettes, a French macaroon demonstration, scones, quiche, cupcakes with homemade frosting, as well as cookie decorating. As part of the curriculum, students will walk away with a firm understanding of high-altitude baking.  

Monday: Strawberry Roulade

Students are going to love making this spectacular rolled cake. First they'll learn how to make a classic Genoise cake, then a delicious filling to go in it. Then it's time to assemble and garnish their masterpieces with plenty of fresh strawberries! Let the cake set in the refrigerator for a few hours, then celebrate your kiddo's delicious success after dinner.

Tuesday: Quiche

Set up your child with the skills they'll need for a lifetime of making healthy meals from scratch for themselves and loved ones! We'll make pastry while learning all about docking and blind baking. Then we'll be like the French and mix together fresh farm ingredients like eggs, cheese and cream to make classic quiches. Eggs never tasted so good!

Wednesday: Macarons

On Day 3, students will tackle the epitome of French baking, macaron cookies. First they'll watch a demonstration, then they'll pipe and fill at least a dozen cookies themselves to take home for the family to enjoy.

Thursday: Scones and Jam

Mmmm, breakfast never tasted so good! We'll make at least two flavors of scones, and then a refrigerator jam to slather on top. Delicious!

Friday: Cream Puffs

We're going to finish the week with a bang! Students will learn how to make "choux pastry," then shape that pastry into rounds and bake them into cream puffs. Then we'll make a chantilly cream and have lots of fun filling the puffs. What a great conclusion to a delectable and educational French baking camp!
