About the event
In this hands-on baking class, kids will join Chef Amy McCoombs to create decadent Black Chocolate Lava Cakes with molten chocolate centers, finished with rich ganache and a vibrant strawberry-raspberry coulis. They’ll also make caramel from scratch before dipping and decorating their own festive caramel apples.
Along the way, Chef Amy will incorporate engaging STEAM lessons, exploring how precise measurements, temperature, timing, creativity and chemical reactions work together in baking and candy-making—with special attention to the science of baking at altitude.
Participants will enjoy their freshly baked lava cakes together during class and take home their decorated caramel apples. This is a drop-off class designed for young chefs to learn, create and have fun independently under the guidance of Chef Amy and our culinary team.
